Praying with change, fear and grief.
Change can be both confronting and exciting. The birth of a child is a change for a family and may bring great joy, yet also fear. Other changes bring great challenges and grief. Sometimes our lives alter dramatically and suddenly as in the loss of a much-loved job or the sudden death of a loved one. At other times it is slow and agonising as in chronic ill health of ourselves or a loved one. Where is God in all this we may wonder. In this day of prayer, we will explore our fears and griefs at the changes that have occurred in our lives. There will be some shared prayer and time for silent contemplation. Please join us at the House of Prayer on Wednesday 17th April 9am-3pm. Please bring your lunch. Suggested donation is $10-$20. To register please contact the House of Prayer. Are you interested in becoming a Spiritual Director?
The House of Prayer is welcoming interest and enrolments for their spiritual direction formation program beginning in May. The program will run part time over 3 years with 3 intensives each year. This formation is beneficial to anyone called to a listening ministry and those who would like to explore their own contemplative practices. To express your interest or for more information, please contact Brianne Falconieri at the House of Prayer on 4728 9861 or visit our Formation Page. *Application submissions closes on Sunday the 7th of April 2024. Each year we have a book which suggests the theme for our reflection, and each retreat is designed to be meaningful even if you have not had time to read and reflect. Our book for this year is 'Boots, Cracked Pots and a Place at the Table'.
The Thomas Merton Reflection Morning is on again this weekend - on Sunday the 3rd of March. If you would like to stay for the shared lunch please don't forget to rsvp by Friday the 1st of March. Please see the flyer attached.
Would you like to sing just for the fun of it? Join the UPLIFT SINGING GROUP on Friday the 8th of December at 7pm! No singing experience required, just the motivation to sing together. Suggested donation $10. See attached flyer
