What is Contemplative Prayer?Contemplative prayer places a strong emphasis on interior silence, when we centre our full attention on the presence of God and on God’s love in our lives. It is being open to the Spirit and opportunity to get in touch with our true selves. Contemplative prayer allows us to commune beyond words, thoughts, feelings, and actions to facilitate an abiding state of union with God.
Coming together to pray, to stay quiet before our God provides profound opportunity for personal growth and insight. The prayer time is mainly spent in silence but the prayer leader will offer a theme or scripture to enhance personal prayer and the musical background offers serenity and peace. During the Church seasons of Advent and Lent our prayer and reflections focus on the person of Jesus who is at the heart of Christian faith. The fourth Monday of the month is dedicated to praying for peace in the world. |
Liturgical Celebrations.
The House provides opportunities for the celebration of the Eucharist or the Liturgy of the Word. These celebrations allow participants to come together in an intimate setting to pray, listen, reflect and share. All are welcome to attend.
From time to time, special occasions may arise for a liturgical celebration. For example to mark the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi or the Blessing of Pets in Anderson Gardens. Notice of these special celebrations will be on our calendar and our Facebook page.
